Designed by architect Giovanni Candi, the Contarini del Bovolo staircase hides stories and legends that make us dream. From its top, 26 meters high, you can enjoy a wonderful view of the city and the firmament. In fact, in 1859, the astronomer Ernst Wilhelm Tempel, conducting observations with his telescope from the Belvedere of the stair-tower, discovered comet C/1859 and the Merope nebula. According to legend, however, Pietro Contarini had the staircase built so that he could go up to his bedroom, located on the top floor of the building, on horseback. Today we become privileged observers of this jewel hidden in the San Marco district, a few meters from La Scala. Immediately struck by the fine finishes, we enter the welcoming living room, we can enjoy a romantic and very rare view directly onto the Scala, sitting on the sofa reading a book. The property is embellished with high hand-made gold leaf reliefs, a magnificent 18th century fireplace and luxurious mosaic floors of ancient wood. We then find the modern kitchen, with access to a lovely and intimate common outdoor space, where we imagine ourselves relaxed and enjoying a quiet breakfast immersed in a typical Venetian atmosphere of gondoliers and traditional boats. The suggestive double bedroom, where you can relax while admiring the play of lights of the Scala at sunset, and the bathroom partially covered in Carrara marble complete this unobtainable wedding favor with a classic heart, but with all the comforts to make it perfect also as an investment, being also sold completely furnished with custom-made furniture of local craftsmanship and equipped with septic tanks and usability. Highly performing windows, air conditioning, alarm system and armored door give added value to this beautiful property.
