We take a few minutes' walk from Piazza San Marco towards our property, up to the characteristic Rio Terà delle Colonne. The "rio tare" which means "buried canal", is a peculiar element of Venice's road system, a pedestrian street created by burying a pre-existing canal. The Rio Terà delle Colonne, in particular, was built in 1837 and was crossed by a bridge, while a foundation ran along the entire current portico. Thus we reach the apartment, go up the stairs and cross the threshold: we are welcomed by the splendid and spacious living room flooded with light, with an open view of the roofs, parquet flooring and exposed beams. On one side we find the separate kitchen and the first bathroom; on the other side we access the sleeping area with two bedrooms and a second bathroom. From the living area, a practical wooden staircase leads us to the large and habitable attic, equipped with comfortable wardrobes along the walls. Finally, practical wooden steps lead us up towards a small private paradise: the wonderful roof terrace, of generous size, with a breathtaking view of the bell tower of San Marco and the domes of the Basilica. Behind us is the expanse of typical Venetian roofs, while in front of us stands the majestic bell tower, very close, of which we can clearly admire the arches of the belfry and, on the top of the pyramidal spire, the golden statue of the Archangel Gabriel. This apartment with large spaces, light, a central and strategic position is a very attractive opportunity for those who, like us, love the Venetian atmosphere and want this privileged glimpse of the Serenissima for themselves every day, in a historical and artistic context suspended in time.
San Marco is the heart of the city of Venice, the best known and most prestigious district, from every point you are within walking distance of both Piazza San Marco and the Teatro della Fenice. This area is also very well served by all the Vaporetto lines, and by the gondola ferry, it is also possible to reach any corner of Venice in less than ten minutes.
