Boljun is an ancient town in northeastern Istria in the Municipality of Lupoglav, built next to the still well-preserved medieval castle, with a wide view of the fertile valley of Boljuncica and the Ucka mountain massif. From the 15th to the end of the 17th century, this "neither town nor village" was at its peak, it had its own judges and prefects, numerous altars of churches were taken care of by fraternities, Glagolitic was written and taught. From then until Boljun, it lost its significance and life almost stopped, but the town did not fall into disrepair, and even today it pleasantly surprises every excursionist with its views.
