The Colonnades - your second home in the private residences Heiligendamm - high monument depreciation "The Colonnades" are located in the southern row of buildings of the ensemble of the private residences, directly on the Heiligendammer beach in the immediate vicinity of the "Grand Hotel Heiligendamm". To the front - from the roof terrace - the view of the Baltic Sea, the expanse of the sea. Facing south from the sunlit balconies and terraces of the beech forest. It couldn't be much more idyllic, and yet Germany's first seaside resort combines seclusion with good connections to the world - ideal as a second home. Because from Berlin you need about two and a half hours by car via the A 19, from Hamburg on the A 20 only two hours. Hanover is about three and a half hours away. You can reach Heiligendamm from Rostock Airport in Laage in just under three quarters of an hour. In the immediate vicinity of the "Grand Hotel", eight lodging houses were built from the middle of the 19th century, in which guests could stay directly by the sea. After the completion of the string of pearls, a building was erected behind the villas Greif, Möwe and Seestern in a style that was new for Heiligendamm: the colonnade. In the Gründerzeit, the German bourgeoisie achieved prosperity and wealth. This development did not stop at Heiligendamm. While the demands of the guests in Heiligendamm were originally limited to nature, the lake, art and the forest, shopping facilities and services that could be reached quickly were now also in demand. In order to create space for several sales and service businesses, the approximately 50 meter long, two-storey plastered building with its row of Doric columns in front and its flat gabled roof was erected. The architectural style is characterized by the colonnade, which dates back to the second half of the 5th century BC. found in Greek architecture. The classicists of the 19th century adopted this style. On the colonnades, completed in 1874, it is probably the most important architectural element. The colonnades became an essential part of Heiligendamm's infrastructure. There was a bookstore, a fashion shop, smaller restorations, a perfumery, a hairdresser, a shop with bath products, and a few other shops. Strolling through the shops made Heiligendamm come alive. It is important to us to preserve the structure of the colonnades and to renovate them carefully. This primarily affects the external appearance with the columned hall in front, the horizontal profiling and the surrounding cornices. Likewise, all windows and doors are made of wood again and are reproduced and replaced in accordance with the historical look in terms of shape, size and profile. On a total area of around 4,000 m², nine townhouses with 3 to 5 bedrooms and bathrooms on living areas between 290 and 470 m² are being built in the colonnades. As part of the refurbishment, the building will have an elaborate basement and a room level and open spaces on each floor will be added on the south side. Generous roof terraces are being built on the roofs. Only high-quality materials are used for this refurbishment, reconstruction and addition to the colonnades: including valuable floor coverings, natural stone in the bathrooms and high-quality interior doors. Ceiling heights of more than three meters create the framework for a representative ambience. A remote controllable gas fireplace and fiber optic cable for a powerful internet connection are also included. Each individual house has a high-quality fitted kitchen, underfloor heating and lattice windows made from selected wood with heat-insulating glazing. Fencing, access control and discreet video surveillance secure the entire ensemble. The "colonnades" are part of the listed group of buildings or the entire complex of the monument area Heiligendamm and enjoy so-called ensemble protection.
