Ano Mera is a village with a traditional color, built in a pivotal point, with picturesque alleys and churches of Cycladic style, but also a remarkable tourist infrastructure. Here is also the central Kopanistis workshop of the island. Ano Mera is the starting point for hikes and excursions in the north-eastern part of the island, with many beaches and attractions (Lake Fokos, beaches Merchia, Kalo Livadi, Agia Anna, Tigani, Tragonissi, etc.).
As Attractions it has the central square of the village, with traditional taverns and cafes, the Monastery of Panagia tis Tourliani in the central square. It has a remarkable wood-carved iconostasis made in Florence, an impressive spire and a courtyard with a marble fountain and relief decoration. It was founded by monks from Katapoliani, Paros, in 1542, on the site of an older church dedicated to the Entry of the Virgin.

The windmill, on the hill of the village. The Paleokastro Monastery, built on a hill north of the village, where there are also the ruins of Gyzi Castle. It was founded in the 18th century and has a catholicon dedicated to the Dormition of the Virgin, a gilded iconostasis and remarkable icons. Gyzi Castle (Paleokastro), a medieval building of the 13th century. In this location, an ancient wall, remains of buildings, traces of a funeral pyre and ceramics of the Geometric, Archaic and Hellenistic Periods have been identified.
"Ftelia" beach, in the mouth of Panormos bay, northwest of the settlement. There are traces of a Neolithic settlement here.
