A few details about this area…
In 1969 the association of Kallitechnwn was created and included this area in the town planning, indenting to create a “model town”. Plenty of luxurious maisonettes are built in this area. It is full of green and many blocks remain free for common use. In the main square “Aretousa Café” is run by the association Kallitechnwn and the tennis, basket and volley courts can be used by the residents. Additional characteristics of this area are the wide roads with plenty parking places. Furthermore the absence of traffic makes it ideal for jogging or for bicycling, while it is very easy to meet interesting people and make new friends! Rafina's and Pikermi's commercial centers, with a big variety of shops, are only 3 minutes away, while it takes only 5 minutes to go for a swim in one of the area's clean beaches. The same time is required to enter the Attika Tollway (Attiki Odos) and then at around 30 minutes to reach the center of Athens. Many private schools transport the pupils to this area as well as a daily bus exists for the nearest public school. The association is also planning to build a civilization center, both as well as a swimming-pool. After Attika Tollway was completed, the area is continuously developing, while the assets values are rising. Furthermore, within a 10 minutes distance a suburban railway (Proastiakos) station is located, while the MINENV (Ministry of Environment) is planning to expand very soon the Attika Tollway until Rafina's port. This will minimize the distances and facilitate port's connection with Proastiakos through Attika Tollway.
