The Origins of “PALAZZO GHELFI” Palazzo Ghelfi is a historic building in Trento, located in via Mario Pasi 21, in the historic center of the city. The palace was built in the 16th century by the Ghelfi family, one of the most important noble families of Trento. The palace was then sold to the Thun family in the 18th century and in the 19th century it was purchased by the Municipality of Trento. Palazzo Ghelfi was first restored in the 20th century and today, once again renovated, it houses the headquarters of an important credit institution on the ground floor, while the main floors have been used for luxury residential use. The palace is a three-story building with a stone facade. The facade is decorated with a series of frescoes and coats of arms. The palace has an internal courtyard with a unique portico. Palazzo Ghelfi is an example of Renaissance architecture and represents an important "piece" of the history of the city of Trento.
