Between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the last century, the largest watch factory in the world was opened in Giudecca. In fact, in the 1920s, over 1,500 watches were produced here per day. After various production changes, Junghans closed definitively in 1971. But it was at the beginning of the 2000s, thanks to an extraordinary real estate project, that this entire industrial area was redeveloped, giving it new life and new splendor. And it is precisely in the most iconic building, in which a theater has also been created, that this fascinating property is located. The spectacular entrance with huge windows leads us to the first floor: once through the door, the large and bright living room opens up which gives access to the beautiful terrace that surrounds the entire property. The views are breathtaking: the southern lagoon appears blue and majestic. Symmetrically, the two large bedrooms together with the two bathrooms act as wings to the living room. Finally, a functional separate kitchen and a comfortable storage room complete the property. Experiencing a piece of industrial history with such an astonishing view is a privilege that is difficult to repeat: contemplating the beauty of a sunset, or dining lulled by the placidity of the lagoon is priceless. The island of Giudecca is one of the most famous residential areas of Venice. With its characteristic houses and the famous Redentore church, it exudes a charm that has always remained intact over time. Just a short gondola ride from San Marco, it was called Venice's "garden of delights" in the 18th century. The name “Junghans” derives from the famous German company that founded the first Italian watch manufacturer here. In the 21st century, a thorough restoration has converted its use: now in the factory buildings we can find a theater and several residential complexes that retain the historical name of Junghans.
