Villa Calvi is an extraordinary 18th century residence located directly on the shores of Lake Como; it was built by the Artaria family, music publishers of illustrious classical composers, including Haydn, Beethoven, Mozart, and Rossini. At the end of the 19th century Gerolamo Luigi Calvi, the new owner of the mansion, commissioned architect Citterio to expand and embellish the villa by adding new buildings. Today the residence showcase the main villa, two other smaller villas and a caretaker's lodging and is immersed in a large flat secular park of about 5800 square meters. After a complete and meticulous restoration done between the years 2010 and 2013, this magnificent and unique residence has returned to its former glory, while respecting its' past, maintains the linear and elegant layout of the original property, transforming it to a luxurious estate equipped with every comfort, consistent with modern lifestyle. From the entrance gate an avenue lined with majestic old trees leads to the residence. The ground floor of the main mansion features a triple living room with high ornate ceilings and French doors and breathtaking views of the gardens and lake. The center of secular park showcases a beautiful, heated swimming pool. The secondary entrance gate leads to the spacious garage that can accommodate eight cars under a cultivated orchard.
