This splendid villa is located in a very quiet countryside area, a 2 minute walk from the local shops and just a 5 minute drive or 15 minute bike ride along the Serchio river to the center of Lucca. It was built in the 18th century on the remains of the former 11th century hospital along the famous pilgrim route "Via Francigena" in Rome. The villa has been conservatively restored to maintain its original values and bring it to a current "state of the art" level. The tiles have been removed, square around reinforced concrete, isolated and the ancient tiles returned or exchanged; all 40 windows (chestnut) have been manually restored and new windows and external doors in chestnut have been added. On the east side, next to the kitchen, a new balcony terrace has been created in the "villa style", using only ancient materials. Central heating was replaced by a modern high-efficiency Viessmann municipal gas boiler. It has kept all the different fabulous' 900 tiled floors and a three-level fully marble staircase in the "art deco" style. The dining room has an old "Rococo style" fireplace (+/- 1730). In addition, the villa has the characteristic supports of the "terracotta" roof of the ancient noble villa of Lucca in the area
