We are located in the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, precisely in Palazzuolo sul Senio (FI), in Bibbiana Tiglio 19. The landscape context in which the villa is located is subject to environmental protection. The property is a typical rural building called "Podere del Tiglio", positioned halfway up a ridge facing south and built with stone bearing walls such as squared sandstone and wooden floors. The villa was the subject of a recent renovation (2014) focused on energy self-sufficiency and environmental sustainability, which was nominated for the "INARCHITETTURA Award 2020 - Tuscany" for best building redevelopment. Thanks to this innovative project, the "stones" of the old "Podere del Tiglio" were reused and the beams of the floors were recovered from local sawmills. The building produces the energy it consumes through a small photovoltaic field located on the southern pitch of the roof and the rainwater is recovered for irrigation.
