“the name is attributed, by tradition, to the long surrounding wall which, for about five hundred metres, runs along the left side of the house. The de I murelli complex is composed of two distinct buildings, the villa padronale and the orangery. The first is made up of a main block with four floors with a smaller two-storey building on the east side on which a terrace is created. Access to the apartments can take place either directly on the main floor, via a fine semicircular staircase located on the façade, or on the ground floor, through a portico created in the smaller body. The back of the villa, delimited by another terrace that runs at the height of the first floor, it opens onto the swimming pool, and from here towards the magnificent park, populated by centuries-old specimens of holm oak. Externally the building is entirely plastered, except for the strip of the ground floor and the string course frames, made of travertine. To the north of the house, in front of the main facade, there is the orangery, recently restored and renovated into a home. This forms a "u" shaped body connecting with the service buildings behind it, which, completely plastered, also incorporate a small family chapel. Adamo rossi attributes the design of the villa to galeazzo alessi, referring it to the last years of the 16th century, when the artist, having returned to perugia, created, in addition to the door of the cathedral, the cloister of the stars in san pietro and various portals of palaces and villas, also the villa dei murelli outside porta san pietro. This attribution finds no other confirmation, but certainly the alessian influence is evident in the airy arches of the loggias and in the layout of the spaces. Inside, a door recalls the lines of the numerous others existing in perugia and which are certainly designed by alessi. Since the mid-17th century, the house belonged to the narbini family; in 1817 it was purchased by vittoria mattei, upon whose death gabriele bruschi succeeded. In 1851 the villa was purchased by zefferino faina. The house with the loggia, on two floors, had the services gathered on the ground floor, the rooms and bedrooms on the upper floors. On the façade of the villa, in two still existing squares we read: “parks, gardens and greenhouses zefferino faina created in the year 1849” and “the angusta casa ampliando made it comfortable and decorous in the year 1868”. Zefferino faina enlarged the main house, created a large garden and created a park of over three hectares with valuable plants, avenues, fountains and an artificial lake in the lower area of the property for the collection of rainwater. The villa, in this period, hosted political, cultural and social meetings. Zefferino's wife faina, luciana valentini, niece of luciano bonaparte, was one of the most appreciated landladies of the "bella époque"
