Near Reggio Emilia, in the evocative scenery of the Terre Matildiche, organic wine estate with Agriturismo. The estate consists of a single large building (over 1,000 sqm) that includes the wine cellar, a restaurant with adjoining tasting room and guest rooms. The vineyard (8.7 ha entirely organic) produces more than 60,000 bottles of wine per year.
Services are available in the nearby village (3 km, 5'). The presence of numerous castles in the vicinity of the property is a major factor for tourism. A few steps from the estate we find, for example, the Castle of Bianello, a testimony to the small kingdom that Matilda of Canossa had around the year 1000.
DESCRIPTION OF THE BUILDINGS, CONDITION AND FINISHES
The main building (1,126 sqm – 12,115 sqft) has three floors in total.
- Basement: large portico (used as a shelter for the equipment needed during the grape harvest), wine storage room, oil storage room, ageing room, labelling and packaging line, technical room and boiler room;
- Ground floor: wine-making room, analysis laboratory, restaurant with professional kitchen and panoramic terrace overlooking the surrounding landscape and tasting/sales room for the farm's products.
- First floor: large living room and three bedrooms with en-suite bathroom.
The building has a modern appearance, also taking into account the renovation that took place in 2020. The structure is equipped with all comforts and heating is provided by a wood boiler (which is collected from the property's forest) and a solar thermal system (12 kW). Power is instead provided by a photovoltaic system (50 kW) that covers the entire roof of the building. To ensure the safety of guests, the property responds to a system that includes alarm and video surveillance.
The wine cellar is divided into two floors, but is highly functional given the connection system that allows the musts to be efficiently processed in the winemaking room and the wines in the ageing room below.
A few steps from the main building is a small outbuilding (42 sqm – 452 sqft) that is used as a vinegar cellar.
