The history of this property began in the 19th century when an Austrian military garrison occupied the island from 1815 until 1866. Later the occupation passed to the Italian Army until after the First World War (1914-1918). Today the island is privately owned. It's located in between the well known Burano, Torcello and Sant'Erasmo Islands, the most charming position in the Lagoon of Venice.
