Largo Marques de Pombal, the heart of Porto Covo, and the entire old area that surrounds it is one of the wonders of Portuguese Enlightenment architecture, being currently an area with several commercial spaces and restaurants.
Porto Covo is surrounded by the most beautiful and natural beaches in the country, rugged and hidden that lie along the coast. The island of Pessegueiro, is another point of interest. At the time of the Romans it was a place of fish preparation. It has an excellent beach for windsurfing and sport fishing.
Fish dishes, seafood, cataplana and feijoada de buzios are some of the gastronomic specialties of this region. In summer, Porto Covo is especially lively. Various sports and cultural activities are used, on its beaches and in the locality.
