Aston Martin One-77 Unique and “haute couture”

At the last Paris Motor Show, the brand with wings covered its new gem with a tarpaulin. The One-77 was therefore eagerly awaited in Geneva. It kept its appointment and surprised more than just a few. Good-bye to typical British phlegm, hello to the passion for real driving. Those who acclaimed English sportiness and sophistication will have to get used to it : it has all the attributes of a supercar. Without forgetting the flowing design so characteristic of British cars. Athletic volumes, a huge hood superbly domed, and real ferocity in its overall design, worthy of a warrior of the road. Muscle therefore, but with undeniable presence. The One-77 comes with a chassis made of carbon fiber and an impressive V12 7.3 L engine of over 700 hp ; derived from the V12 6.0 L of the DBS, it enables the car to reach 320 km/hr and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/hr in 3.5 seconds. Its weight on the scales ? A ton and a half, which means incredible performance for a car of its kind. Aston Martin engineers have endowed it with a carbon-ceramic braking system and three shock absorbers on each rear wheel. High technology called for a perfect finish. The interior is, in itself, a trip to never-never land. Cockpit is, in fact, a better word for this unique coupé. Two-toned in black and white, it is pure luxury, in both form and substance. The seats have been designed to accommodate their occupants’ morphology and are partially covered with braided leather. The console and door interiors are made of carbon fiber and the steering wheel features chrome inserts (just like the air vents). Sporty, for sure, but sporty and chic. Logically enough, this “haute couture” model, the first supercar in the history of Aston Martin, will only be produced in 77 copies (hence its name). Only the driver and one passenger can benefit from its performance and experience sensations never felt before. Equally sensational is its price : one million euros. And last time they looked, the order-book was still full...
