ASTON MARTIN VALHALLA, THE HYBRID SUPERCAR
From concept car to production model, there is just one step, taken by Aston Martin with real delectation. This mid-engine supercar is the embodiment of the British manufacturer’s expertise in terms of the chassis, aerodynamics and electronics.
The Valhalla, “the resting-place for the souls of soldiers who died in combat in Nordic mythology”, is no exception to the Aston Martin rule for models with names begining with a “V”. In the wake of the Vantage, Virage, Vulcan, Vanquish and Valkyrie, the Valhalla’s thermal and hybrid powertrain offers 950 hp in all.
Three motors throb beneath the hood : two electric, and the main one, the most advanced and most responsive ever installed on board an Aston Martin, a 4-litre twin-turbo V8. In all electric mode, the car attains close on 130 km/h, or 350 km/h courtesy the V8, chalking up 0-100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds. Together with the chassis, the carbon fibre monohull structure participates in the car’s aerodynamics.
The driver is immediately launched into a new driving experience, with the Valhalla achieving a perfect balance between performance, precision and sophistication. Production will commence in 2023. The 500 Happy Few who will benefit from this limited series (information awaiting confirmation by the Gaydon brand), will have to part with no less than 1.17 million euros.
