As always, Aston Martin has carried off the challenge with remarkable flair. In the wake of the DB9, it was the turn of the Vanquish in its coupé and "Volante" roadster versions to benefit from the Carbon Edition in a choice of two colours, shiny black or white, with a number of details simply made of carbon fibre. Starting with the front bumper, side skirts, wing mirrors and air vent. After a "teaser" to introduce this new production, the model put on a show in September at the "Mondial de l’Auto" in Paris, kicking off a flurry of photo albums in the specialized press.
Its heart beats to the tune of the iconic 6-litre V12 engine with a new 8-speed automatic gearbox, the Touchtronic III, faster and more precise. With 576 hp beneath the bonnet, the Carbon Edition achieves zero to 100 km/hr in 3.6 seconds, and a top speed of 323 km/hr. The designer has lavished real care on details, as illustrated by tinted side windows with sporty surrounds, somber 20-inch, 10-spoke, light alloy wheels, distinctive brake calipers, and surprising eyebrows on the headlights, also in black to suit the occasion.
100 % black except for refined stitching on the seats and dashboard, the interior combines pure lines with sensual curves. Carbon and leather finishing touches, quilted door inserts, Bang & Olufsen audio sytsem with anodized black speaker grilles… Here, luxury is an entire philosophy, darkness and stealth a way of life. Prices start from 260,000 € for the coupé, 275,000 € for the roadster.
