Corvette Stingray, the american dream
With eight generations already on the clock and its enticing appeal reaching new peaks, this model fulfills the dreams of Zora Arkus-Duntov with its mid-engine tucked behind the passenger compartment and visible on coupes.
The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray has finally crossed the Atlantic. Its seats are positioned near the front wheels, with both driver and passenger placed precisely at the centre of gravity. With a 6.2-litre V8 engine delivering 482 hp on board, this supercar chalks up 0-100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 296 km/h. The hood is short, the rear span spacious and elegant.
At the rear, two air outlets, two rear lights and as many exhausts. The steering wheel stylishly recalls racing cars with lateral controls. The rear camera is connected to the rear-view mirror. The coupe’s roof panel is removable and available as you wish in the colour of the bodywork, a transparent version or carbon fibre, while the convertible is crowned with a standard power-retractable hardtop that folds down over the engine compartment in 17 seconds at speeds of up to 50 km/h.
The standard Performance Data Recorder sends driving videos to an SD memory card, records soundtracks and statistics with dates and times. Three kinds of seats: GT1 in Mulan leather, GT2 in Nappa leather with carbon fibre finishes, and the Competition Sport model with reinforced seats for driving on the track. The car’s comfort amenities include dual trunks, one at the front, one at the rear. The Corvette Stingray is presented at 88,620 €.
