Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid
Greener than ever, this smart environmentally friendly model boasts a range of 50 km in 100% electric mode, consumption of only 2.5 l/100 km, and CO2 emissions of hardly 56 g/km. An impressive leap forward in reconciling luxury sports cars with the needs of planet Earth...
The Porsche Panamera 4 E-Hybrid pairs a new 8-speed PDK (Porsche Doppelkupplung) transmission with a direct injection 2.9 litre twin-turbo V6 combustion engine and a 100 kW electric motor, giving a combined 462 hp under the hood. Driving modes include Sport and Sport Plus, petrol and diesel, but also E-Power, Hybrid Auto, E-Hold and E-Charge. The AWD transmission is all-electric, with no mechanical parts. The energy output of the battery, nestling under the luggage compartment, has been increased from 9.4 to 14.1 kW. Charging times range from 3.6 to 5.8 hours, depending on the type of charger. The many formerly disparaged control buttons have been replaced by a 12.3-inch touch screen. Benefiting from four wheel drive, this green model, now more understated than an urban car, can attain a noiseless 140 km/h, thanks to its new lithium-ion battery (liquid-cooled), and a top speed of 278 km/h.
Fans ready to part with at least 110,000 € (ie. over 5,000 € less than for the 4S version) can already place their orders. The first deliveries are scheduled for very early in the spring. Porsche is clearly pushing further than ever the limits of the hybrid, which it also proposes for its 918 and Cayenne models... While waiting for the Mission E, the first fully electric model, slated for 2020.
