The powerful “Evantra Millecavalli”
It was at the Turin Motor Show that this latest offering from Mazzanti Automobili, the most powerful street-legal hypercar ever made in Italy, staged its world premiere. Focus on this trans-Alpine model boasting 1000 hp...
Luca Mazzanti, founder of Mazzanti Automobili, made the trip from Tuscany to promote the Evantra Millecavalli, an extreme version of the model presented in 2013 at the Top Marques event in Monaco, chopping two months off the agenda that had originally been scheduled. Combined with a six-speed sequential gearbox, the 7.2-litre V8 bi-turbo engine provides 1000 hp and torque higher than 1200 Nm. The car leaps from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.7 seconds, and chalks up a top speed of 402 km/h. Performances perfectly controlled thanks to new carbon-ceramic brakes ensuring deceleration from 300 km/h to standstill in only 7 seconds. Lightness, equilibrium and dynamism are the key words on board this beautiful car with a kerb weight of 1300 kg.
This firm on a human scale is planning for exclusive production limited to 25 cars which will join the five models produced per year in the Evantra range, a name inspired by the Etruscan goddess of immortality. “I have been dreaming of a unique car, different from all the others, since I was a child,” admits the CEO. Today, he intends to treat a few passionate owners to tailormade and handcrafted models. Three of them have in fact been ordered, when the project was still in its pure planning phase. While the Mazzanti style is the common denominator, each creation reflects the owner’s personality, with driving pleasure remaining an intense and thrilling experience.
The car’s short front contrasts stongly with the generous wheelbase at the rear, endowing the design with its own special personality. With the doors open, the car looks rather like a bird of prey. Its aerodynamics are clearly inspired by Formula 1. The fact that Italy, home to Ferrari and Lamborghini, has produced its first street-legal 1000 hp car should hardly surprise us !
