A benchmark for Japanese gastronomy in Paris, Kinugawa and its chef, Toyofumi Ozuru (formerly of Le Nobu Paris), have chosen the beach at the Majestic Barrière in Cannes as the site of their ephemeral summer terrace. Parisian jewellery designer Philippe Ferrandis has just inaugurated his first boutique in the provinces. After its winter season in Megève, Jérôme Foucaud’s restaurant, “Le TIGrr Indochine”, has moved into its summer quarters in the Ermitage Hotel in Saint-Tropez. Inside or on the terrace, this luxurious, confidential address proposes a selection of cocktails, Asian “tapas” (Dim Sum, nems, makis…), and a delightfully exotic menu paying hommage to refined Asiatic cuisine. It looks just like a simple box of chocolates. But it is unlike any other. Well-known make-up artist Terry de Gunzburg has created a summer collection called “French Riviera by Terry”. Offering extravagant colours for eyes and lips, this line can claim to be avant-garde thanks to its totally original make-up products. “Force 10” is the name attributed to the new ladies’ watch from Fred. The L.Raphael spa nestling on the 7th floor of the Martinez Hotel in Cannes has just added a new treatment to its array of offerings : the Power Oxy Lift Caviar Lec-40. Nestling on the top floor of the Hôtel de Paris inaugurated last summer in Saint-Tropez, “The Roof” proposes inventive cuisine signed by the Niçois duo from Les Deux Canailles, Tsumoru Takano and Laurent Inoué. With a delicate Japanese influence, each dish is discovered in a new light. The carpaccio of sea-bass, for example, is mixed with yuzu, the Riviera vegetable salad is seasoned with soya-flavoured sesame oil, and the lobster and fillets of red-mullet are deglazed with saké ! As in every other year, the Artcurial Paris auction house is moving into its summer quarters at the Hermitage Hotel in Monaco. On the programme, two outstanding sales, on July 22nd and 23rd. The first, entirely dedicated to Hermès, consists of many exceptional vintage lots including a number of Birkin and Kelly handbags made of the finest leather. One unique piece is widely-awaited. In blue-jean Epsom calfskin, it is silkscreened with a portrait of Grace Kelly dating back to 1954. The second auction is aimed at fans of prestige watches and jewellery. The legendary king of diamonds is this month moving into a salon of 75 m2 on the Croisette, a first address in France outside Paris for the house of Harry Winston, founded in 1932 in New York.
