Ten years after the major retrospective dedicated to Azzedine Alaïa (1935 – 2017) at Le Palais Galliera, the couturier is back in the spotlight in an exhibition presenting, for the first time, the exceptional patrimonial collection he built over the years. A remarkable collector, Alaïa assembled over 20,000 pieces testifying to the art of fashion created by his predecessors, from the birth of "haute couture" in the late 19th century to admirable creations by some of his contemporaries such as Jean-Paul Gaultier, Alexander McQueen, Thierry Mugler, Yohji Yamamoto, and Rei Kawakubo of Comme des Garçons.
