At Sotheby’s, Alexander Kraft learnt all about wine, excelled in the field of cars, and finally devoted himself to real estate. In 1998, he was appointed Chairman of Sotheby’s International Realty Europe, with 30 countries under his wing. Six years later, he acquired the franchise for France and Monaco. It was now time to challenge real-estate groups. In 2022, he can lay claim to 70 agencies, sales volume of 1.5 billion euros, and admits to an average sales price of 1.4 million euros.
Who better than this property collector could master the fine art of living for a demanding, affluent clientele ? Alexander Kraft lives in Monaco, but appreciates his pieds-à-terre in Florence and Paris, benefits regularly from his Lanai in Palm Beach, and describes with real fondness his family’s 19th-C. residence in Berlin. Not forgetting his neo-classic country house in Le Var nor his late 18th-C. hotel-restaurant, a property aptly called “La Maison Bleue”.
