Biarritz Sotheby’s International Realty
Affiliated to the world’s N°1 network specializing in prestige real estate, the Biarritz Sotheby’s International Realty agency run by Bénédicte Marchal confirms the market’s hyper-buoyancy and the aura of a region which, since the Covid crisis, has never been so attractive.
This agency founded in Biarritz 30 years ago, affiliated for over 15 years to the Sotheby’s International Realty network, is one of the region’s major players. Backed by its excellent reputation and expertise, the agency has a loyal and affluent clientele, both French and international, and can rely on many other assets : “We now have eight members in our team, all sharing the same values : attentiveness, passion, and the fulfilment of high demands. We explore a wide area stretching from the southern Landes to Hendaye via the countryside, and benefit from the strength of the Sotheby’s IR network,” explains Manageress Bénédicte Marchal. On the subject of the market, she adds : “It is very lively, with demand always stronger from one year to the next. The pandemic has significantly speeded up transactions : we have a growing number of clients with increasingly substantial budgets. In parallel, prices in the region are constantly rising and, in some highly-prized addresses such as Hossegor, Biarritz, Guétary and Bayonne, the rise can attain 20 to 30%. Our clients, mainly French over the past few months, come from all over France, though mainly from Paris, Toulouse and Bordeaux, and show real fondness for the region. Foreign buyers are beginning to return. Enthusiasm is so great that it is increasingly hard to meet demand. Some properties find takers without even being advertised. Confidentiality may well be an advantage. Apartments offering a walk-everywhere lifestyle, with outdoor areas and garages, are highly prized, like houses with gardens. The more distant countryside is seeing more interest from buyers wanting to invest in a family home, enjoy the charm of the countryside, and re-connect with a healthier, more serene lifestyle. With the crisis and teleworking, projects which were sometimes set in the distant future became a priority and have been materialized. The riches of our region and its art of living are widely sought-after. The area appeals and is pushing prices higher”.
