Bliss et Foch, a long-established agency
Founded in 1895 by Englishman Georges Bliss who gave it his name, specializing in sales and acquisitions of fine properties used as second residences, this iconic agency has sailed through the years with real panache. Taken over by Pierre Laplace under the Bliss et Foch sign in 1989, then joined by Didier Lepinoux, Daniel Iribarren and Marc Lurenbaum, the agency now operates as three complementary entities belonging to one and the same group.
One name, three independent structures and a team of six, the Bliss et Foch real-estate group based at the very heart of Biarritz offers it expertise and experience of the market to a local and international clientele. “What makes us different is our deliberately restricted portfolio of properties,” says Daniel Iribarren. “We only choose houses and apartments whose prices reflect the current market, and for which we usually act as sole agent. Our strength also resides in our ability to propose and manage properties worth 100,000 or 3 M €.” Daniel Iribarren, whose main focus is on Biarritz and its centre, pursues a complementary activity with Didier Lepinoux and Pierre Laplace, the agency’s other two main players, also covering the surrounding communes : “We maintain a certain homogeneity in the areas we know in great depth : we don’t cover Saint-Jean-de-Luz or Hossegor, for example,” explains Didier Lepinoux. The two specialists confirm significant growth in 2016 : “This year, we completed many more transactions, confidence returned among both buyers and sellers, and the region proved to be very attractive. Compared to 2015, when the market suffered from a lack of quality properties at the right price, we have seen a definite upturn in 2016”.
