John Taylor, developing both its own agencies and franchises
Since its acquisition in 2017 by the Artcurial group, a French auction house dealing in artworks and collectibles, John Taylor has taken up positions on all fronts. Gilles Tejedor, the Group’s Executive Director, takes a look back.
In France, John Taylor is comprised of three agencies under franchise, in Aix-en-Provence, on Cap d’Antibes, and the most recent in Lourmarin covering the Lubéron & Alpilles, plus six agencies of its own : one in the capital, five on the Côte d’Azur, from Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat to Saint-Tropez, not forgetting Cannes, where it all began in 1864. Abroad, John Taylor boasts a score of entities in Monaco, Spain, Italy, Switzerland, Malta, Qatar, in Dubai and India.
Gilles Tejedor, who joined the group five years ago after a first experience in transport followed by 15 years with renowned real-estate networks, handles its development in France, currently with 70 team members, while coordinating the worldwide network, 250 people in all. With regard to development strategy, he prizes “the richness of encounters and market opportunities”.
The human aspect is a priority. On the programme ? More agencies in Paris, the Alps and, why not, the Atlantic coast, probably near the Bassin d’Arcachon. While John Taylor focuses on three main sectors - sales of exceptional properties, rentals and property management -, the group also proposes business premises and corporate real estate, vineyards and yachts, and asset optimization solutions for seniors.
The market is proving to be lively, underpinned by a clientele 70% international, despite travel restrictions due to the current situation. The notion of “investment for personal pleasure” seems to be boosted by fresh vitality.
