Specializing in seasonal rentals and proposing a selection of irresistible properties for sale, the agency Maisons du Sud Ouest builds close relationships with its clients by giving priority to transparency and sound advice. Interview with manageress Lorene Weber and Anne François, in charge of sales.


Decorated like a home of character, Maisons du Sud Ouest sets the tone right from the start. Proximity, advice and availability are the core values of this small agency, run by Lorene Weber with her team, which inaugurated another branch in Hossegor in 2013. Covering an extensive area stretching from the Basque coast to inland areas of the Basque country via Les Landes and as far as Arcachon, Maisons du Sud Ouest proposes a rigorous selection of properties : “Our choice is not guided by high prices but a property's stylishness and character, its location and view. We do not want a “high-end” label. We offer villas vith views of the sea or mountains, historic residences, but also fishermen's houses and apartments of charm,” explains manageress Lorene Weber. Working hand-in-hand with the interior decor boutique “Cour Intérieure”, Maisons du Sud Ouest strives to set off each property to its best advantage before putting it up for sale. The agency also proposes an annual maintenance service for holiday homes, publishes a guide to insider contacts (private coach, original excursions…), and invites an artist every season to adorn the agency's walls so that clients can discover his or her work at a private evening event. A human dimension which has proved successful, resulting in a loyal clientele both French and international. On the subject of the market, sales manager Anne François points to soaring prices in the region over the past five years : “The market is very tight, there are lots of buyers and few availabilities, especially in Biarritz where the centre, the neighbourhoods of Les Halles and Beaurivage, are highly sought-after. On the other hand, in neighbouring towns and further inland, the market is showing strong development and offers fine opportunities which should not be missed”.
