NATHALIE GARCIN, A FAMILY SPIRIT
Reaching out to others is her driving force. Endowed with undeniable qualities for building relationships, Nathalie Garcin has always placed the human approach at the heart of her activities. At the age of 25, after an early career in advertising, she turned her attention to real estate and convinced her father, Emile Garcin, based in Saint Rémy-de-Provence, to open an agency in Paris.
Born in Provence, Nathalie Garcin attended boading schools for a large part of her childhood, in all four corners of France. When she was 18, she moved to Paris, a city with which she fell in love and has never wanted to leave.
She began her career in an advertising agency, then joined Hédiard, the luxury grocery group : “I was responsible for advertising and communication for Hédiard, and I met a lot of people. It was really exciting !” When the Hédiard family sold the group, Nathalie Garcin returned to an advertising agency, but began to question her motivation.
This was the trigger, and the realisation that real estate was a self-evident choice ! She joined an estate agency in Paris to learn the nuts and bolts of the trade, soon revealing her aptitude. A year later, on the strength of her success, she wanted to move into higher gear, persuaded her father, and inaugurated the first Emile Garcin agency in Paris : “I started out in a small ground-floor aparrtment of 50 m2 with two main rooms at 18 rue de l’Université. There were just two of us !”.
A born leader, Nathalie Garcin knows how to win the the support of those around her. For proof, some of her team members have been with her for 30 years : “I am deeply attached to family values, I try to forge relations based on trust with both my staff and my clients, some of whom have become my friends. I have a human vision of doing business. And I am very proud that our group has remained a family enterprise, it is the only one of this size in France for which this is the case”.
