Values which have brought him success with the creation of two agencies, one in Hossegor, the other in Biarritz, and a meticulous selection of properties. “We are very picky about the properties we present : we focus on charm, character and a soul, or the quality of the location, whether for a seafront villa, a private mansion, a farmhouse in need of renovation, or a castle. Our geographic sector extends over a large zone, as reflected in prices, ranging from 500,000 to 4.5 million euros, with an average spend of 1.3-1.4 million euros. While specializing in high-quality residential properties, we may well handle transactions involving commercial premises, as was the case two years ago with the sale of Hossegor’s finest hotel. We recently sold a fully renovated house of 240 m2 in Hossegor, near the golf-course, with a garden and pool, priced at 1.5 milion euros. We are also in the process of finalizing important negotiations for an exceptional property in Hossegor between the lake and sea (3-5 million euros).” As for the property market and the health crisis, Serge Pilke explains : “During the lockdown, it was impossible to organize visits, but we received E-mail requests for information on a daily basis. Most of our buyers did not abandon their plans, quite the contrary. And when confinement came to an end, we resumed at the point we were at in March, with many enquiries and finalization of sales still on-going. Our French clientele is very active in the market in this region, French ex-pats too. There is real enthusiasm for the homes that constitute the core of our portfolio, and we are seeing a strong desire among buyers to move out of city centres in favour of the coastlines. I am optimistic for the future : there is strong demand, there just remains the problem of supply which is becoming even more scarce”.
