Tell us about the area you cover for real estate financing and your role in property development in Monaco.

CFM Indosuez mainly operates within Monaco where we finance acquisitions of main or second residences, as well as rental investments representing significant amounts. We are also involved in real estate financing and development in the Principality, where our company plays a major role. We also cover the French Riviera, from Saint-Tropez to Roquebrune, as well as Paris and the Alps, with a highly selective approach. We work in cooperation with the Crédit Agricole group to cover other destinations.

What is Monaco’s appeal in terms of real estate and how do you assist new residents when they move in ?

Monaco’s appeal remains strong in 2023 with the arrival of new residents from all over the world. We help these new residents to settle in by providing advice and assistance to make things easier when they take up residency. Recent real estate projects, both luxurious and environmentally friendly with, in particular, eco-design and thalassothermic energy, clearly form part of the Principality’s appeal. We are also delighted to see the success of the extension on the sea, whose delivery is scheduled for the beginning of 2025 and which is attracting new investors. As Manager of the leading bank in green and blue financing in Monaco, I meet many very affluent clients, and can confirm that its real estate offerings are capable of satisfying the most demanding clients.

How do you see the current context of rising interest rates with regard to mortgages ?

We are very keen to provide mortgages. We place the accent on the quality of each client and work on supporting buyers in their real estate projects. It is interesting to note that buyers whose currency is the US dollar arrived in large numbers in 2022 and early 2023, to benefit from the euro’s temporary decline. They contributed significantly towards supporting the market. Furthermore, Monaco is impacted less by the rise in interest rates due to its buyers’ low rate of dependence on credit.
