A great fan of travel and botany, Prince Roland Bonaparte built the largest private herbarium in the world : 2,500,000 samples representing almost 100,000 species. In 1896, he installed the collection in the magnificent private mansion he had had built at 10 avenue d’Iéna in Paris. Home since 2010 to Le Shangri-La, it is perfectly natural that the hotel pays tribute to its founder by creating each season a collection of original cocktails based on plants and vegetables. This autumn, pumpkin, beetroot, pears, figs and kiwis take pride of place. Shangri-La, 10 avenue d’Iéna, Paris 16 (01 53 67 19 93).
