Benetti FB253
It turned out to be the longest of all the models on display at the last Boat Show in Cannes. In fact, in its 35 years of existence, the event had never hosted a yacht of this size ! A boat 61 metres long is certainly an eye-catcher…
Yet even though its size is impressive, “Diamonds Are Forever” has lots of other aces up its sleeve. Its official name is the Benetti FB253. The one shown here has been dubbed “Diamonds Are Forever” because its owner is a dedicated fan of the movie saga devoted to James Bond. The name suits it to a T, it’s such an incredible gem ! Fully customized as per the owner’s wishes, it illustrates all the know-how of the shipbuilder and its partners, for whom each model simply has to be unique. On board the “DAF”, the wheelhouse is located on the flybridge, the engine room has been entirely fitted out in stainless steel, and an upper deck has even been added above the flybridge. It is reached by an crystal elevator. A keep-fit area and “relax & beauty” area occupy the main deck, together with the VIP suite. The lower deck consists of four guest cabins, while the owner’s apartment extends across the upper deck, offering a 180° view of the sea. Throughout the yacht, the decor is the ultimate in sumptuousness, as witnessed by the materials : precious Italian marble, Marieux crystal, gold-leaf, onyx, Madrona burl wood… For its interiors, Benetti called on London-based architect Evan K. Marshall of the firm Usonia V. The perfectly balanced “DAF” attains a top speed of 16 knots, very honourable for a monster of this size, and invites twelve guests on a cruise they certainly won’t forget...
