Italia 70’
The Baia Shipyards have always been innovative and even avant-garde. They demonstrate the fact once again with this new cruiser which has drawn admiration, especially for its sleek design.
We owe the first yachts with trim-able propellers and Kevlar laminated hulls to Baia Shipyards. They also produced the special “Force One” series capable of attaining over 50 knots, and the Atlantica with its amazing technology.
Presented officially for the first time at the Cannes Boat Show in September 2007, the Italia 70’ soon proved, in its turn, the capacity of this shipbuilder to predict market demand. This latest offering from the shipyard in Naples boasts ultra-sleek design, very high performance and technical innovations. Above all, one appreciates the spaciousness of the decks with their numerous sofas and the very modern interiors designed by Carlo Galeazzi.
As for performance, the Italia 70’ is fitted with two Caterpillar 1825 hp engines giving a top speed of 52 knots. The many technical innovations include a clever system whereby the plexiglass partition between lounge and cockpit lifts up and slides into the hard-top, and lateral windows which open electrically to provide ventilation. The three spacious and richly decorated cabins, the area reserved for the crew (with a real shower room) and the yacht’s intelligent layout all deserve a special mention.
