Wider 42’, an innovative concept
Visitors to the Cannes Boat Show all took the time to get a good look at this new cruiser. Presented in a preview on the Croisette, the Wider 42’ made a strong impression as the latest “little bombshell” on the pleasure boating scene.
It’s quite simply revolutionary ! It is, in fact, the only model capable of doubling its surface area thanks to mobile carbon extensions on either side of the hull. The patented automatic deployment system takes just twelve seconds to open or close. Even when the central section of the Wider 42’ is completely open, the cockpit is still protected by a sunshade awning. Tilli Antonelli, president of the Wider company created just over a year ago, talks about “a new way of experiencing the sea, beyond all stereotypes”. To guarantee maximum versatility, owners can choose from two different configurations of the rear : either a stern that can house a 3.4-metre jet-ski in an open garage, or a stern fitted with a generous sunpad. The interior offers all the comfort required for a day out at sea : a small galley, a saloon with a C-shaped benchseat (which can be transformed into a double bed if necessary) and to the fore, a shower room with toilet. A high performance hi-fi system allows passengers to listen to music in the saloon, galley and even on deck. An optional audio-visual system is also available. As energy savings and low environmental impact are today’s major concerns, the Wider 42’ has benefitted from special treatment (engines, aerodynamic design and materials borrowed from the aerospace industry). This innovative day cruiser proves to be an excellent student, powerful but not greedy !
