"Quartet" is a project of four individual, detached houses located in the foothills of the Serra de Tramuntana, Mallorca's UNESCO-protected mountain range, dotted with picturesque villages and spectacular scenery.
What makes this development special is the choice of renowned professionals for each of the homes. They form part of a complex, but are totally unique and different from the rest, completely escaping from the concept of urbanisation. Its privileged location allows us to enjoy 360 degree views, allowing us to observe the sea as well as the fantastic mountain, the forests of Sa Extremera and the plantations of the surrounding villages. The villa is designed around an access designed to function as a link that connects the three fundamental areas of the house: the bedrooms, the living room and the kitchen area. In this way, each zone can exist independently, increasing the level of comfort and habitability for its users, with porches inspired by typical Mallorcan architecture between each area.
INTERIOR
Everything is built respecting the traditional architecture of the area.
The house is situated on a steep wooded hillside and its flat design is intended to respect the clearing of the forest where it is located. The sloping roof follows the lines of the hillside and covers both the living space and a large single-gabled porch. On the ground floor, the entrance serves as a link between the three elements of the building: the main house, the children's house and the service quarters.
We have ensured that its materials form one with the environment, thus taking advantage of all the advances of our technology and our fantastic nature. Its interior design will allow us to take advantage of every bit of solar energy while at the same time sheltering us from the inclemency of the weather. The combination of the rock, which has been extracted from the mountain itself, in combination with the wood provides a cosy atmosphere and imbues you with an oasis of comfort.
