Peguera is a small village at 1,700m in the Pre-Pyrenees mountain range in the north of Catalonia, Spain, on the border between Span and France. Nowadays it is completely uninhabited, its isolation, together with its location in one of the extremes of the Valley and the rocky peak behind the houses, surround the village with a unique peaceful landscape full of leisure possibilities. Such unique features have been carefully considered in the present project which aims to bring the village back to life for all those willing to enjoy its precious setting.
The village's privileged setting just 130 km from Barcelona and 50 km from France and Andorra, makes it an ideal place to relax for leisure and nature activities, but it also provides easy access to shopping, entertainment and sightseeing since it is incredibly well connected by highway to such attractive destinations. Therefore, this project embraces a number of different touristic and leisure options as well as providing excellent service in a unique setting in a natural environment and offering integrative landscaping design.
The area of the Peguera Peak, where the old village was set, will hold an apart hotel built by recovering the original houses in the village. A brand new 40 room 5 star hotel will be built in an isolated area distant from the village but also following the typical mountain architecture of buildings in the area. In addition, gardens and orchards, around the houses will sensitively complement the spectacular landscaping of the area.
Ancient traditions, Romanic architecture, unique mountains, wonderful rivers, and legendary forests.
