Mil Palmeras is a town that is located by the sea, a district dependent on the municipality of Pilar de la Horadada (23,403 inhabitants, according to INE 2012), in the province of Alicante, Spain. It is located on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, bordering Dehesa de Campoamor to the north, which is Orihuela district and to the south with Torre de la Horadada.
It is a coastal town, born as an urbanization adjacent to the coast of the municipality, it is framed next to the natural mouth of the Río Seco, a rooted river that runs for about 16 km crossing the entire municipality of Pilar de la Horadada.
In Mil Palmeras you can enjoy three fine white sand beaches: Mil Palmeras Beach, Vista Mar Beach and Río Seco Beach
The most important festival is the pilgrimage of the Virgen de la Alegría, celebrated the first week of August.
In the town there are various restaurants, bars, cafes, pubs and hotels and aparthotels.
