The cottage at Signal Rock is so named because of its location near a NY State Historic marker indicating that the place was of strategic importance to aboriginal Americans, who were able to see for miles from this very spot. The current house site enjoys a fascinating view over the storied Silvernails Valley, to Stissing Mountain and the Stissing Fire Tower, high above Pine Plains, NY. The 1951 mid century cottage is worth preserving, and could be a comfortable home in its own right, or the beginning of a more expansive estate on its 45 acres. The property is an easy ten minute drive to Stissing House restaurant, recently named to the NY Times top fifty list for 2023. The location is equidistant to each of Hudson, Rhinebeck, and Millerton (20-25 minutes), among the most beloved towns in the entire Hudson Valley.
